The past few days I’ve had the opportunity to spend some quality one on one time with some of my favorite people. The activities have been varied – a motorcycle ride up into the nearby mountains, a leisurely lunch to celebrate the birthday of a dear friend, and a Skype chat with my sister who is currently living abroad. Most of these opportunities didn’t come at “opportune” times – the list of things that I wanted to get done those days were long and I didn’t have enough hours to finish everything. And yet, I would never trade those visits for check marks on my to do list. As I work to make my life more positive, I am finding more and more that a large part of finding the balance in your life – and experiencing the joy of life – is to enjoy the moments with the people around you. There will always be more work to be done. But these opportunities will not always return. Which means I need to take advantage of every single one that I can.
